We had a {Heat Wave}

I'm am so excited to write this post because I feel like we've waited forever for this little one to arrive! A donkey is pregnant for 365 days almost to the day. As a mother of three myself, I couldn't imagine having to wait another whole 2-3 months! Friday afternoon I had a feeling that it was going to be soon from the way she was acting and from palpating her udders. So, we moved the horse to a different pin and separated the other donkeys to another. Friday evening we left for dinner (around 630) and came home (about 9) to find that mamma had JUST delivered this sweet little one! I was able to tell yesterday, It's a BOY! Pictures honestly don't do this baby justice! He is absolutely adorable and oh so SOFT! It's amazing how just 20 minutes after birth that they are up walking and already nursing! I'm in awe of these beautiful animals and what they stand for! I can't wait to share more of all of this cuteness in the months ahead!
But for now...

I introduce you to the newest member of our farm, Heat Wave!

Most people would have expected a warrior on a horse … but they got a servant on a donkey.
Jesus picked the least fierce way possible to enter Jerusalem. This is believed to be the reason the donkey carries the cross upon its back!
